As per the latest email offering from the POA. If you have an easement on your property, you can apply for a variance on your original landscaping plan to have your easement reclassed, an all natural area. Once approved you have to clear all rocks, (Because rocks in the ground are not natural to the area right?) you can then let native grass, (Used to be known as weeds.) grow up to 23 inches tall.
So, from the way I understand this, as EVERY OWNER IN VO has an easement usually on the front of their homes, everyone can apply to allow so called native grass grow to 23 inches.
If the owner across the road applies for and gets a variance, he can then allow this native grass to grow upto 23 inches tall and have the wind spreading seeds onto my lawn, and that’s okay? The POA could always then fine me for weeds.
Have they really got nothing better to do?
Can you imagine driving in VO with, so called native grass 23 inches high each side of the road. This will just drive down our house values.

I logically have to believe that there are 2 definitions of easement here. There are the easement rights of utilities that are intended to let them work on their equipment on your property or prevent obstruction from lines, etc. Then there is space between homes as easements. I certainly hope the POA would not approve a public utility easement for this that runs along a property.

What about properties that have other easements not just in the front? Like water, utility easements?
They should revise it to say 12 inches or 1 ft. Homeowners that have not moved in should be responsible for contracting there property to be in compliance with the new if voted in requirement to keep there easments within 12 inches or 1 ft length requiremement.
