1. TNC runs the neighborhood not the Board. TNC tells the BOD what to do and they do it. The BOD seems to made up of people who simply want to spend money and raise fees. There is ZERO interest in actual cost savings or ROI on any expenses. There is no ROI analysis on the surveillance system they installed, no ROI on buying all the landscaping equipment and building a 400 K storage building (They simply claimed it will save money.) If you compare the minutes, decisions, announcements and policies or Copper Ridge and other TNC ran neighborhoods you will see significant overlap and repetition with those used by or implement in VO . The BOD is TNC’s yes man, and that is lazy and unaccountable.

   • TNC are the management company. The Board tell TNC what they want and TNC carry it out. TNC have NEVER RUN THIS COMMUNITY.

   • I agree. THE BOD IS TNC’S YES MAN.

2. The current board president worked hard to dissolve the convents committee – many mini meetings with board members “off record”. He doesn’t like any conflict. And instead of working with the committee to find some solutions- he dissolved it.
   The current president has changed the whole culture from “committee volunteers help guide the board.”
   It has become “committees are too involved and the board will ask thier input when we want it.”
   This has turned off many committee members and resulted in many volunteers resigning (many very VO experienced volunteers).
   Now all decisions are being made by 9 community members vs over 100 providing input.

   • If this is true, that sort of whistle blowing is exactly why this site was made anoynamous!

3. Hold quarterly Town Hall Meetings allowing shared opinions and ideas between Board and Owners. Attending the Open Board Meetings is a waste of time if our questions can not be addressed or answered it ends up being a complaint session rather than suggestions that could lead to open discussions and idea sharing, It’s already mid year and we haven’t had one yet.

   • Totally agree. People need to show their concern by consensus polling. There is no absolute way to bring community wishes with the time limit allowed at board meetings. At board meetings, you are only authorized on a question or comment and it is limited to 3 minutes. There is no counter reply from the board and so the communication process is halted with the board answer. Another fact, there is no way that our wine room can sit over 2,000 residents and it only allows for 100 participants. Town meetings will not represent community concerns because of the allotted seating. The only way to represent the majority community concerns is to support electronic polling consensus. Solution: solicit involvement on this site and get people to poll their concerns for support, solutions, and comments.

4. They refuse to speak up on their views. They all vote in favor of everything. Not one board member has stood up in a meeting to favor against. I don’t want puppets, I want a board to speak up for what is right. A real board would support a survey with more than 3 questions. A real board wants the owners views so they can support the majority interest as stated in the VO mission statement. It does not make sense why the board does not support voter polling on the VO website. Are they really supporting the owners. The board has definitely lost my trust.

5. I think they are unexperienced and as such have made some rookie mistakes. They do not seem to want help.
